The Texas Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Division held in Austin  the annual MegaCon Conference from May 9-11, 2023, at the AT&T Conference Center. There, the Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller- recognized Galveston ISD with the Local Farm Fresh Award for serving local fruits and vegetable to the GISD students.
